Kidd praises Manchester City players & staff following Mancini sacking
Man City responded to Roberto Mancini's dismissal 24 hours earlier by beating Reading 2-0 on Tuesday night to finally clinch second spot in the Premier League
Manchester city caretaker manager Brian Kidd praised the "special effort" of the club's players and backroom staff after a positive 2-0 victory over Reading in the wake of Roberto Mancini's dismissal.
The Italian was relieved of his managerial duties at the Etihad Stadium on Monday, a year to the day after guiding City to their first Premier League title, leaving Kidd to take charge of Tuesday's clash against the Royals.
That three-point haul clinched a second-place finish for the recently dethroned champions and Kidd was delighted at the professionalism of the players as well as praising the support of his staff behind the scenes.
